Forget it! - the whole caboodle is on Ancestry as of today - England & Wales. 1837online have missed the boat again I'm afraid - first with the GRO index, when FamilyRelatives beat them to it with a fully-searchable index, and now by Ancestry with the 1861 census.

Just my luck, I bought credits yesterday for 1837online to read the 1861 census Lancashire, only to find I can now get it on Ancestry. Not a happy bunny. Gloria

Richard - is that the whole 1861 census, or just a limited part? I'm not a member of Ancestry, but might subscribe if I could get the whole thing. I found one part of the family on 1837 last night, but don't want to have to wait for the rest if I can help it! Thanks :-)
