I am looking to research some members of my familly tree who seem to have been born in Ireland in the early 1800's. There are no Irish records for that time that I can find (poss. due to the fire), but one of them was in the Army based in Coventry and Dundee as far as I can find out. I need to access the Miltary records for hte marriages and births of his children and wifes. Can anyone help? Laura |

1837 has the overseas bmd (armed forces) registers all online, as well as the usual England and Wales stuff. I found some of mine that way. The National Archives catalogue also searchable online lists war office documents relating to individual servicemen/women. Some of their stuff can be ordered online. Good luck, Sarah |

Hello, Could you possibly give me the address of that site please, as I am searching for my grandmother who we believe married a soldier overseas. She was last seen with a soldier pacing the pavement trying to catch a climpse of my dad who was put into foster care, when he was 6 weeks old in 1920.The foster parents were friends of my great grandmother. The daughter (my grandmother) was not mentioned in her will, so am presuming there was a falling out of some kind.We also don't know what nationality the soldier might have been. There is no marriage or death in England after 1920 for her. Thanking you in advance Jenny in Australia |
