My great grandmother Ann E Morris was married to Richard Frederick Morris. Her birhplace on 1901 census is Meltham.Have found a marrige of Ann Emma Pogson in 1890 to Richard Frederick Morris in Huddersfield. If I obtain my grandfarther's birth cert(he was born in 1892,Huddersfield) would it have his mother's maiden name on it.If not how do i find her maiden name? |

Your grandfather's birth certificate should give name of his mother at the time of his birth and also any previous names. For example I have a birth certificate which says the mother is Eliza Heath, late Pearson, formerly Garrard. This confirmed lots to me; Garrard was maiden name, Pearson was name of previous husband (now dead) and Heath as current married name. Hope this helps - you should order the certificate. best wishes Bridie |
