Just what records are kept where. I thought that Parish records would be kept fairly local and phoned Ludlow library to ask. I spoke to a lovely lady who assures me they do have census records but i must go to Shewsbury Records office for everything else. Is this true. I've just booked a break in Ludlow to do some research pre 1837 and now find that i'll still need to travel to Shewsbury. (I could have booked in there). Many thanks Joan

Thanks, buying the fiche sounds okay but how much would a reader then cost me? Joan.
