what is 1837 and is it anything to do with finding births and deaths |

Hi Martin Yes 1837 is www.1837.com and it contains scanned images of all birth marriages and death from 1837 to 2003, plus Consular BMD's and contains the 1861 census for London and the Home Counties. It is a 'pay per view' site and cost £5 for 55 units, each time you view 1 page, your account is deducted by 1 unit. Ben |

There is a special offer on until 31st May. If you enter the promotional code FHS2005 when purchasing credits, you will get 10% extra. All it gives is the GRO refence numbers for the event and for births, possibly the mothers maiden name, depending on the year. This enables you to purchase the birth certificate (or marriage/death) to get the full details. Sam |
