Can someone please remind me how to do parent searches - that is - to find all the children belonging to one couple?? I remember that LDS has this option and I have forgotton how to do it but are there others too? Kate |

Hi Kate, I do it by typing the parents names in the boxes on the right and leaving everything else blank. There might be a better way but I don't know it. Janice |

On the LDS you would put in both parents names, mainly fathers full name and mothers partial name or maybe add maiden name if too many results. also add county if also too many results appear. keep narrowing it down each time |

When you find one child, click on the batch number at the bottom of the screen. This takes you to another search page. Put the parents names in the boxes supplied, you will probably only have a first name for the mother. Click search and you should get a page listing all children with parents of that name. |

I keep doing what you are saying on LDS but not coming up with anything! I suppose that it just means that it doesn't have the info I need! It's strange though - because it has not worked for any of my parent searches at all! Is there a better site? Kate |

I have just tried this and have decided I must be stupid. I put in the name of a child, up it came in the census (1881), I got the rest of the family as was then, but couldn't find anything to give all the children a couple ever had. Hope this makes sense cos I am really struggling with it. Gloria |

Hi, Kate, would the parents be with kids on 1871,1881,1891 or 1901 census, If so let me know names and I'll look for you. AL |

You'll only find them if they have been baptised and the records have been filmed by the LDS. You need to check coverage for the area you are interested in. Janice |
