Hi Chris, is your emal with the same company as your web browser - if so it may be that their server is down and its not your problem at all. Give it a bit of time and try again. Trudy |

Both Mazilla and Opera add spyware/adware to your PC.....which can potentially harm your PC. Try removing both programs, download, install and run an anti spyware program (Microsoft's free anti spyware program is an excellent one!) and stick with Internet Explorer. Those free toolbars and web browser helpers cause more problems then they're worth. They start out working fine but as the spyware/adware stuff these programs collects, accumulates, the more problems your PC will have. Judy |

Didn't realize you had Incredimail, too....that is one of the worst programs as far as spyware/adware. Remove that spyware.adware collector and run the Microsoft program. Judy :) |

Chris I use Mozilla Firefox which I was advised to get when micrasofts service pack 2 messed up my secure server on internet explorer. I have had no problems with firefox adding spywear and adwear to my computer, quite the opposite I have less now than I had before. I also hae Spysweeper to get rid of spywear and adwear and Norton Internet Sercurity for any nasty bugs. Firefox has the advantage of having a good popup-blocker so it only allows the web page your in to create popup windows instead of the annoying advertse. I had Firefox working at about 6am BST and since about 4pm BST, so it could have been that they were doing work on the server and the same goes for the other browser. What OS (operating system) do you have? Windows Xp? 2000? 98? Mac? etc... As it could be that an update is not compatable and that has stopped your system working. I know the last Firefox update went funy on my computer (OS windoes XP) but I uninstalled the browser and then reinstalled the upgraded version fron Internet Explorer and Firefox is fine again. If your system seems slower than it was try running an antivirus peogran and defragment the system (instructions are in the main help file). If you have spywear/ adwear remover try running it as well. If all else fails reboot your computer - it's amazing what that can achieve. Good Luck Lunar |

Anything that gets rid of spywear and adwear is better than nothing. I only downloaded Firefox and Spysweeper because the computer technitions at uni recommended then after I asked them for advise because I had trouble with my internet connection that the uni provide in their accommodation. If you keep getting problems it might be worth speaking to your internet provider incase their having problems with compatability to updates. |

Everything I have read about Firefox suggests that it is about the safest browser you could be using: even the US government has been recommending its employees use it instead of Internet Explorer. I have never seen anyone claim it installs spyware before. Can you tell us more about this please, Judy? |
