Hi There is also the possibility that she was unmarried and not widowed. Sometimes on a census its hard to make out if it is a Un or a W. If that is the case then the conversion may have put the info in wrong? Vikki xx |

Hi Sarah, Yes that could be them more likley to be a brother of William , I must look for a marriage certificate for James and see if the father is George. Do you think James remarried a Susan or the name Janes is wrong thank you Margaret |

Hello Nell, I have their first marriage certificate his fathers name was George, they married in Haverhill Suffolk in 1871 they had 4 children Emma born 1872 Kate born in 1874 Haverhill George born 1882 and Albert born 1889 in Edmonton between 1889 and 1891 William Poole died can't find a death certificate for him, have had a search done for it. and previous to 1871 I can't find William or his family on any census. thank you Margaret |

Hi Margaret. Found this couple together in 1871,1881,1891 censuses. 1891 POOLE. James head 69 Lexden,Colchester Bricklayer Susan wife 66 West Bergholt, Essex Laundress Living in Straight street, Lexden,Colchester. Same address in 1871 and 1881. Also in 1871. Charles poole visitor 24 Lexden Kezia Poole wife 22 St George's Norwich This may not be of any use to you but both names match. Alyson |

Highly likely there was a connection. James could be her former husband's father (though he's probably too old), brother, nephew or cousin. Or even a son by a previous marriage. I think you would need to go back to Emma's first husband - find their marriage cert and then find him on a census with his father and siblings and see if that helps. nell |

Hi Kathleen they were married in Edmonton Middlesex that is where she was living when she became a widow but not where they came from they came from Suffolk. Have no idea wther it be a brother of William or anything, because this my brickwall. thank you Margaret |

Sounds like they were related to her first husband. What location was the second marriage? There are a lot of James Poole's and Susan Poole's on Ancestry. Kath. x |

Hi What is you opinion on this I have an Emma Poole who was a widow in 1891 and in 1893 remarries a Thomas Williams on this marriage certificate the witnesses were a James Poole and Susan Poole do you think they were related to her first husband. I know they were not her children. I can't find them on a census. What do you think thanking you Margaret |
