If you've managed to track her down in an earlier census - is there any chance that you can trace her neighbours and see if she's amongst the neighbours' neighbours? - if you see what I mean. I've had at least two successes that way. Christine |

S and T are often similar - my Smoothy lot have been recorded as Timothy, so perhaps Tindall? nell |

Vanessa, the one that springs to mind immediately is Sendall. Also i spent months looking for a Sarah Lainsbury only to find she was mis transcribed ,and should have been Sainsbury.So you could try Lindel/Lendle/Lendall variations. Good Luck ! Elaine x. |

I m trying to find a Mary Sindall born Lincolnshire c1807 and died 1885 in Lincolnshire (Ingoldsby). She does not appear to be on the 1871 or 1881 census. Has anyone any ideas of any kind, where i can look or maybe how she may have been mistranscribed, because i have run out of ideas. Vanessa |
