I just called my Dad n he says George's mum was Miss Kitching, he just needed his memory refreshing, thanks Dea, you made my dad remember a little more. :-) AL

Thanks for looking Dea but somehow I don't think George would marry 5 years before he was born LOL. Just in case I confused you. George's dad Henry Lucas c1895 married Elizabeth ? And George Lucas 1921 married Olive Cunningham. If it helps any my dad was born in Tow Law, Co.Durham so I think George & Olive wouldve married there.

Hi, Dea thanks for that, I had been told by a family member that his wife's mum's maiden name was Kitchin, perhaps she got it wrong. George's wife was Olive Cunningham born 1921. And also I have been told George's mum was Elizabeth. AL

Your best bet will be to look for George Henry Lucas in the GRO birth indexes, perhaps on 1837 online, when you find that it will give you all the information you need to order his birth certificate, and also his mother's maiden name will be on the index (as well as on the actual cert) so you may well be able to find his parents' marriage on the marriage index working backwards from the quarter he was born and then order the marriage cert, and so on. I have found a Henry Lucas c1893 in Durham in 1901 census but I can't be sure he is mine. I wrote the family down just in case. AL

My grandad George Henry Lucas was born 31/07/1921, Stockton-on-tees. and his dad Henry Lucas I have born around 1895 and I'm guessing he was also from up north. If wives are any use let me know and I'll add them on. AL

You should be able to get your grandfather's birth certificate with the information you have. When that arrives it will give his mother's maiden name and then you can look up marriage and order the marriage certificate of his parents to get further information on your gt.gdf. When was your grandfather born as it may show his mother's maiden name on the site. Regards and Good Luck Irene

Hi, I would like to get my grandad's birth certificate and his dad's cert too, but I only know my grandads DOB and his dad's name, don't know mothers maiden name, I know who his wife was, but would marriage cert have parents on and I don't know year of marriage, and for his dad I only have a name and possible D.O.B, Is it possible to get Birth certs with just this info?? Any help appreciated. AL
