Member Since: February 2004 Posts: 94 Send Message	Hi Wayne, The Defense Medal was given for 3 years continuous service in the Home Guard. Entitlement can be confirmed from Army Medal Office, Government Buildings, Droitwich Spa, Worcs WR9 8AU. You need to be next of kin, or enclose a letter from the next of kin saying they have no objection to you having the info. Good Hunting Rob

Member Since: January 0001 Posts: 0 Send Message	hi wayne,i think you needed 3 years service to win the defence medal,you could get intouch with public records at kew ,home guard file wo 199/3212 gives all the units,you need to be next of kin,i think,hope this helps, regards tony
