can anyone help me,i am looking for a birth cert for my gggranfather on his death cert he was 51yrs and died june quarter 1903 on the census forms he was 49yrs in 1901 and goes through to 1871 being 19yrs all the census forms say he was born in fordham cambridge the 1871 he is a lodger so i can't find him with his parents so dont know there names the problem is .the only william born around that time that i can find was born newmarket march quarter 1853 any suggestions thanks cath

The registration district for Fordham is Newmarket so that is right. Maybe William was born, for example, middle of October 1852 . I think you had to register a birth within 10 weeks. If this was done he could have been registered at the beginning of January 1853. Which would put it in March quarter. NEWMARKET Created 1st July 1837. In Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. Sub-districts : Bottisham; Burwell; Cheveley; Gazeley; Newmarket; Soham. GRO volumes : XIV (1837-51), 3b (1852-1930). Ashley, Bottisham, Brinkley, Burrough Green, Burwell, Cheveley, Chippenham, Dullingham, Fordham, Isleham, Kennett, Kirtling, Landwade, Newmarket All Saints (1837-89), Snailwell, Soham, Stretchworth, Swaffham Bulbeck, Swaffham Prior, Westley Waterless, Wicken, Wood Ditton

As you didn't give a surname Catherine, a process of elimination tells me it's one of these two March 1853 Births Turner William Newmarket 3b 526 Harvey William Newmarket 3b 531

sooooooooorry forgot to put his surname lol it was turner shows how clever you are when you can find it without a surname i have just found out in the last hour his dad was called joseph so i could ask them to check that for me before they send it sorry again fancy asking to find somebody with out giving a surname all this searching must be making my brain suffer thanks
