Hi You can search on Ancestry(.)com but you have to pay to view. You can also ask someone who has a spare credit - just look for the 'look ups available' threads on tips board. Vikki xx

Was Elizabeth born a Smith or did she marry one? If she had another married name then you will have to look at the GRO indexes for the death. Gt Wolford has been filmed by the LDS, but not all the records are on the IGI. Sourton is in Devon. Ros

Sorry Robert, you wrote Sourton so it didn't show up when I searched. Stourton is between Cherington and Sutton under Brailles but not many Smiths there. Gt Wolford isn't on the IGI for the years you are looking but the PRs are filmed. Can you get to an LDS church to look at them, I would suggest this would be better than the GRO as there are going to hundreds of Elizabeth Smiths buried in Warwickshire between 1841 and 1851, although if you can narrow it down to a particular registration district you may be lucky. Where is the place of birth given as for the rest of the family in 1851 as this would be where you need to be looking. Ros

No, they might not have the registers at the church anymore, although you never know. Warwick Record office will have them as do the LDS. Check the family search site for details of nearest centre and book yourself in. You will then be able to order the film for Gt Wolford, maybe more than one. You have to order in person as they do charge for the hire of the film. £2.70 for 1 month £3.60 for 3 months. Ros
