Thanks Rambo, that is the marriage that I have got in 1931. Thing is, mum doesnt recall her ever being called Cook, only Best.

My great aunt, born 1904 Gladys Selina Bangs was known to us by the surname Best. I vaguely remember her husband Leslie but he died when I was very young. I havent been able to find her marriage, but I did find a marriage for her in 1931 to Richard Leslie Cook. I have the marriage certificate and from her age, address and names of witnesses, mum and I are sure it is her. The address is that of a sister of her mothers and my mother was born 3 doors away at the house of another sister of her mothers. However, mum knew nothing of this marriage, though mum was only 8 at the time, so maybe she wouldnt have been told anyway. The question is, Did Richard Leslie Cook die, then Gladys married Leslie Best, or are they both the same person and they both changed their names for some reason. I cant find a death for Richard Leslie Cook or a marriage for Leslie Best. Gladys was born in Hull, and the marriage I found was also in Hull. The question is If they did change their names, would there be any record of this anywhere.
