Have recently experienced this. Just starting to load my family tree and found members on both my mum and dad's side had been added including myself and my sisters without our knowledge. Had no idea who the person was and so e-mailed him asking for info - no reply. Went on today and he has removed all his info! Have e-mailed him again but do not expect any reply. It was very unnerving!

I put a similar thread on here a few days ago and someone pointed out the paragraph in the 'Privacy' section ('2 Sharing and Use of Information'). It says:- Important: Members must have, and continue to have, the express permission of any living person to include their details in a family tree. If a Member is asked to do so, relevant details must be removed. Members are the controllers of the information they input relating to living persons, and therefore have obligations under privacy and data protection laws (such as the Data Protection Act 1998). Genes Reunited acts as a processor of that information, at the behest of the Member. I had the same experience. Someone had added my brother's family. Still negotiating. Some of them don't mind staying on now but I felt very indignant and protective on finding that they'd been added from elsewhere when I'd followed their wishes and not done so! Found that it was a relative of a sister-in-law. Good luck with it! - Liz

Very weird as it has my father details including place of birth and year but his three siblings just has unknown. Very cross especially as my youngest is only 2!! Have emailed the people a few days ago but haven't had a reply. Clare.xx

I would be very annoyed if someone did that. A person did add me to their tree - with an incorrect surname too - once, but they sent it to me and I was able to ask them to remove me completely, which she did. nell

Quick question folks. I've never put anyone on my tree who is living except myself and my parents whose permission I have. I'm astounded to find that 2 other people have me in there trees (never heard of either of them) and they also have my children (who I don't have). What the general rule about adding people to trees who are alive ?? Feel quite violated to find my children and my sister (who specificaly asked not to be included) in other peoples trees. Clare.xx
