I am trying to find a marriage of my great great grandparents. My great great grandfather was called Benjamin Welham born Wattisham, Suffolk in 1839 he married a lady called Sarah, I don't know her surname. Their first child Julia Welham was born 1863 in Kersey, Suffolk. Please help as I can't find the marriage anywhere. Fern.

Hi Sorry i've looked on IGI & Ancestry but can't find a marriage to a Sarah. Have found one to a Emma Cooper. She couldn't have been Emma Sarah - know as Sarah was she? Was Welham a popular name in Suffolk? Penny

Hi yeah Welham is unfortunatley a popular name in Suffolk. As far as the census goes her name was always Sarah. I found the marriage of Emma but it's a bit late as their first child would have already been born. Just going to have to order some more certificates. Thanks for looking. Fern.

Yeah I have found them in 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901. But I have never found Benjamin and Sarah's marriage. Why is it that we can never find some marriages? Thanks for looking very grateful. Fern.
