'Thanks for that Kathleen ! pity you can't make out the name of the ship? does it say where the ship was? I also would like to find Julia's second husband who was also lost at sea, John Rennie, I once found a mention of a death at sea in 1888 on the ship 'Sylhet ' of a John Rennie age 41 yrs? but am not sure if its him ? any more info would be brilliant ! 'Thanks Again' Eddie.

Hi Kate, I've a Peter Gibbins b. c1832, listed as a seaman on his marriage cert. His wife remarries in 1868 saying she's a widow. His daughter says he's a master mariner on her marriage cert., but not stated as deceased. Can't find him on 1837 and assume dead at sea around 1868. Any help much appreciated. All the best, Rob

Hello, I am looking for Alexander Jackson. Born at sea, I think in 1802, difficult to say as he varies his age on the censuses. i think the family may have been on the way from Ireland. Linda
