I'm looking for some help please. I'm getting desperate but hoping for a miracle. I can't find my x2 great grandmother in 1891. Hannah Barker born Kingsley, Staffs in 1864. She had my great grandfather, Herbert Barker in 1886. He was illigetimate. Hannah registered his birth in April 1886 so I know she was alive and kicking then, but I just can't find her in 1891. Herbert is with his grandparents (Hannah's parents) in 1891 and 1901. I've looked for a death for Hannah, on free bmd and also Staffs BMD site but found nothing that would fit. I've also looked for a marriage but still nothing. Also, on Herbert's baptism, his mother is named as Anna Barker, so I've also searched for her under that name but still a blank. I'd really appreciate it if someone could have a look at this for me. I'd love any suggestions or ideas as this is a brick wall of mine that I've had for ages now. Many Thanks Helen

Gosh Julie! That's an impressive list and definitely something for me to look at, so thanks! I've just been looking as you replied, and I decided Hannah must have married before 1891 and because I couldn't find anything locally, I decided to look further afield. Anyway, I came accross the marriage to Thomas Flint and nearly fell off my chair when I saw it said she was born in Kingsley!! Woohoo! I've since noticed you also have Hannah Flint on your list. I feel rather sure it's her but will obviously order the marriage cert to check further. If the father's name on the cert is what I want it to be, do I just take it she is mine??? Anyway, thanks again, I have lots more to think about now, I'm over the moon! Helen x
