have you had a look at the 'adopted' threads? there are quite a few of us, like you either doing, or having done this. We all Support each other in our quests so please feel free to add a reply on that thread if you'd like to . Jess x |

Have you got access to your file and if so does it give details of any other members of the family who knew about you? It would be easier then to make contact through them and they could give you background to what happened and the situation now. Have a look at marriages after your adoption and see if she married and had children (if you obtain a childs birth certificate it will give the address she was living at at the time). I lost track of my mothers new family in early 60's and found they'd emigrated but contact was made through lookupuk. Joan Allen has been very successful at finding people so I wish you luck. |

HI, Hvae you got a copy of your original birth cert, her full name and adress at the time should be on there, then you can start going through marriage records for a few years to see if you can find her new name. If you find anything e-mail me direct and I will see if I can find an adress for her. Also try the following sites. www.myfolks(.)co.uk www.missing-you(.)net www.lookupuk(.)com let me know if there is anything esle I can do to help, will also nudge a thread up about adoptees by Jessbow that you may find interesting. Good Luck Sheila |

Hi, Can anyone advise of ways to trace a birth mother when I only have her maiden name at my birth. I assume she is mow married as I can find no trace of her searching the name I have been given on the adoption papers. Thanks, Paul |
