Hi, I use multimap.com for any place name. Just checked, if you go to their site and put in Linkinhorne, you can then zoom in and you can see Clampit. I've done lots of poking around in Cornwall as husbands family are from the Lizard(we are only in Plymouth) and the site is really good. You can also use 'directions' to find ou how far apart 2 places are- handy if you want to weigh up liklihood of having the right place. Good luck Ronnie |

Jan I've had a look on www*streetmap*uk*co [replace * with .] Linkinhorne is off the B3257, south of Launceston and west of Tavistock. Clampit is to the north east of Linkinhorne, but quite near it. They don't appear to be near either St Just or St Just in Roseland, or Crowan. Crowan is just south of the junction of the B3303 and B33280, south of Camborne. nell |

I have a marriage in 1838 in Linkinhorne Cornwall, where the groom comes from St.Just in Roseland and the bride from Clampit. On the 1881 Census, he is from St.Columbe and she is from Crowan. I have tried to google for a map to show all areas but they come up as very old maps or not enough span. Can anybody help a 'Hampshire hog'? |
