I've found a possible link to my 4xgrandfather on the 1851 London census and he states his birthplace as St John's, Worcestershire. There is nowhere just called St John's listed as a town/village on Genuki for Worcestershire but I've found a likely baptism on IGI and a rather interesting Will on documents online, both for St John's Bedwardine, although Bedwardine is listed as a place in its own right on Genuki. This is the first lead I've had with these people after chasing my tail for well over 2 years. Does anyone have any other ideas where St John's Worcestershire might be? Thanks Lou |

Lou There is a St John's in Worcester and it has a library: www.worcestershire.gov.uk/home/lib-worcester-stjohn.htm There's a link to a multimap page which shows St John's as an area of Worcester. nell |

Hi Nell That's where I found the 'likely' baptisms I think. A lot of it fits....but can't get too excited until I can actually find MY ancestor either on the 51 (although suspect he may have died before it) or the 41. If the 41 says out of county, then my hopes might raise just a little more! I've emailed Worcester anyway to see whether I can get a copy of the Will I found on documents online cos I'm hoping there may be some clues in that! Lou |

Hi Barbara So St John's and St John's Bedwardine are the same place? Or am I being dense here? I'll google it and take a look! Lou |

St Johns is the area just across the Severn to the west of Worcester. |

Thanks Geoff I googled it earlier and there's loads of really informative sites on the area. All I have to do now is connect my Thomas to St John's! Lou |
