Not wanting to be a party pooper, but dont be too optimistic as when I have entered a name on to ancestry for say, parish or probate records it has brought up a number and I have excitedly looked at them and found that the system just picks up any parts of the name entered and highlights them. If you follow?? eg. If you put John Peter Smith - it will bring up every entry with John, every entry with Peter and every entry with Smith - not necessarily a complete name. Hope that wont be the case for you but thought Id mention it. |

Hi Lindsay I have access to the Ancestry Newspapers pages. The problem is that it tells you you have a match if the two names appear on the same page, not necessarily together, So if you are looking for John Smith and there is a John at the top of the page and a Smith at the bottom, it will show a match. I will have a look for you just incase but don't get your hopes up! Sam |

Hi everyone.Has anyone got access to Ancestry newspapers at all? There is a mention of a Norman Boyd Scott Stewart in the Evening Sentinel, Stoke-on-Trent for November 1987. The name crops up 21 times in the space of a week between the 20th to 28th of November. If some kind person could look it up for me I would be really grateful. This is the first time I've hit an exact match of Normans name, so maybe just maybe it is something to do with him. Thank you. |
