Although i have successfully traced numerous members of my own family, i am stuck on one side of my husbands family. I have certificates to work from, i subscribe to Ancestry and have checked Free BMD and LDS. After all this i am still no further on. I have the death cert. for Gt. Grandmother and Gt. Grandfather, from family hand downs. Agnes Annie Pobgee Hawkes. (Details available if required) George Henry Hawkes. ( ' ) Now received marriage cert. Holy Trinity Church, Parish of Stepney, London. 29/03/1903 George Henry Hawkes 22 Bachelor Horsekeeper (father) James William Hawkes Address 18 Tomald St. Bow (not clearly written) Agnes Annie Pobgee Sergeant 23 Spinster (father) Henry Sergeant (deseased) Painter Address unreadable. I have scanned the marriage cert. if anyone would like to view the original. Despite all this i can STILL not find any details for any of these people on any census, or there births. Please, Please, Please can anyone have a look for me, or give me any idea's where to look next. I'm going insane. Sandra. |

Don't know if this is Agnes's Mum in 1901. The age and place of birth is right. She is a widow on the image. Email me and I'll send it to you. Charles H Sergeant 19 Paddington, London, England Son St Luke London Eliza Sergeant 55 Southwark, London, England St Luke London Suzy |

Thankyou so much! I have actually looked at this one earlier this evening. I went straight on to original image saw age 15 missed tiny writing above it ( looks like months) and dismissed it, thinking 15 years. I have spent so many hours prior to getting this certificate. I thought it would be simple to find them once i received it, but not so. Now I think i have just looked so much, i've gone mad. I was hoping a fresh pair of eye's maybe more use. I've just got to find George now. Once again, Thankyou! Sandra |

Thanks Suzy, I feel VERY embaressed now. As the marriage was in 1903, i kept concentrating on 1901 census, as this was nearest date to the details i have. I wonder where Agnes and George were in 1901. Sandra |
