I know this may be a silly question, but i know a Freeman Page married an Eliza Harris in 1852 in Uxbridge. I know that he died in 1885 in St georges Hanover Square Chelsea. I have found her on the 1901 census living in Acton but on Free BMD any deaths of the right age are not in Acton or near by, and i am 'skint' so cant afford to order loads of certs so i can see who registered the death, so is the only way i can find out if they ever had any kids,to go to first of all Uxbridge and then work my way up to Chelsea. I have sent in excess of 100 e mails to genes members regarding this couple with no luck, any suggestions please. Eliza was born 1823 in Great Missenden, Bucks if that makes any difference. Maybe im just stupid and its something very simple i need to do. Please please help!!!! In 1881 they lived in Chelsea and Freeman was 67. Any suggestions? |

Have you asked for a lookup on the 1861 census? If they had any children maybe they would be living at home with parents in 1861. Sam |

As a footnote as i have to go off line for now, Freeman Page born 1825 had a brother Francis and his dad was William, so i think my next move will be to try to find this Williams birth and then send for the cert. many many thanks. |

From the 1881 census appears Freeman was born Evington, Buckingham and his wife Mesenden, Buckingham. I havent been able to trace an Evington in BuckinghamSHIRE - seems the Evington was in Leics or Gloucs. But maybe Evington was a part of the town of Buckingham and Mesenden - Little or Great Missenden ? Anyhow I think your place of retreat is the Bucks archive in Aylesbury where they appear to have loads of P Rs. but for his children maybe you are right - Uxbridge, bit of a borderline case. Pages are a pain especially when they all had same names - mainly William or George ! You should be thankful you have one of the outsiders with a name like Freeman ! Good hunting |

The 1861 census index on 1837online has Freeman Page, aged 49 married living in Brentford. I called up all Pages in Brentford and could only find Eliza Page aged 35 on the same page (by hovering the cursor over the 'view' button a page reference comes up) This could mean they had no children at that stage or of course that the household was split over two pages of the census - sorry I've run out of 1837 credits so couldn't check this for you. |

Hi Denise Have you thought of trying to find the family of nephew Edward Buston? I haven't been able to find them in 1871 but maybe they were with family, Edwards parents perhaps. Sorry can't be more help. Vivienne |

Hello everyone. Firstly I know that Freeman was definitly born in Hughenden and that is because i have seen and copied the parish record. It is right next door to Great Misesenden where Eliza was born. I know they married in Uxbridge, i have the cert and i also know that at least 2 of her brothers moved to and had families in Brentford, as for the family of Edward Buston i have tried that line and no luck in fact i think it should say Edward Beeson, but i may be wrong., there is definitly a large line of Beesons, one Edward that would be the right age to be this one. As for being lucky that the name is unusual you are right in that, he had a brother called Knightley and one called England!!!! Thats about as unusual as you get isnt it. Many many thanks for all replies. To Judith thanks for using up valuable credits on me... |

This may or may not confuse people any more but after another, yes another look at my 'stuff' i have double checked and Freemans birth was registered in a parish record in 1814, he gives his age in 1881 as 67 so that would be right however i have his death certificate and that gives his age as 64 in 1885. God what next? |
