I'm just wondering if any one can help me as I am new to this. I have my Grandmothers birth cetificate so i know her parents names but I am not sure now how to search for any of my Grandmothers brothers or sisters. Does any one have any tips. Thanks Gail |

if your grandmother was born after 1911 when you search the birth index it gives mothers maiden name, which is often a good starting point. sandra |

if you know her parents where married before 1901 and had children before that date - search the census |

If you think they were alive and married in 1901 , post their names on here and we'll see if we can get you started. a name or two and some idea where. what are the detail from the birth certificate? |

I think in 1901 my great grandmother would not have been married yet, she may have been in her early 20s in 1913 I have her address for when my Grandmother was born - 49 Sun Street, Bradford - but I cannot find number on any of Bradfords maps. My Greatgrandmother was Elizabeth Flynn (Conroy), marries to William Flynn. All i know about her was no she could not read or write! Is it possible to go to the church for that area and look through their records? Thanks |
