My Grandfather was an Iron Turner in an Iron Foundry quite common in the Grantham/Notts areas. |

From Old Occupations website: Turner 1) Lathe worker 2) Gymnast esp. street performers My great-grandfather was always described in censuses as a "wood-turner". I found out from his obituary that he worked for a furniture company in Richmond, Surrey all his working life. nell |

Probably a wood turner. Yes, Geoff is probably right, I first read your message as his name being Plumber!!! So probably metal turning. |

I am Transcribing 1861 and have come across Plumber and(what looks like --Turner/Tummer)-Can't quite make it out . Any idea's?? |
