Hi does anyone know how i can find any records of dancers or shows in london in the 1920s/1930s? MY great grandmother was a dancer and i have photos of her on stage and would love to know more, can anyone give me any ideas??

Hi Emma Try a search as:OLD MUSIC HALLS LONDON i think you will find enough there to keep you going. John.

I have the same problem, but not in London. My mother was a "Variety Artiste" on her marriage cert in 1943. I have an autograph book which shows many of the people she performed with---sadly none of them famous!--and dates and theatres. But these are just hard facts. I too would love more info but none of the named theatres have any relevant archives. The area was South Shields, Gateshead, Newcastle and also further south if anyone is interested. She was with the Leon Dodd Production Co. Wendy

Hi, Have you tried Metropolitan Archives, I am searching for dancers from Flavias Starlets around 1946/50, hope this is of use. Helen
