Mike. The Leicester Lad.(GC) Report 13 May 2004 14:30

Greeting’s Laura. . . Speaking from a personal successful experience. . . I wrote to Barnardo’s at the address give earlier Giving all the known details on the person you think was a Barnardo’s Child. If the details match with their records then they will send you the forms for you to fill in. (These can be downloaded from their web site in order so you can see what type of questions Barnardo’s are asking.) Once you have filled the forms in and returned them along with a search fee ( £30 or £20 for those on Benefits) Barnardo’s will then release the full History, Photo’s, Medical Records, and release address and dates on that Child. Or if you are close to their Head Offices in London then an interview could be arranged. You have to be the sole surviving relative of the child. . . Or there is a space on the form for you to get authorisation from the next of kin. Yes all this takes time but worth it in the end. . . But a word of warning, have someone with you ether at the interview or when the History comes through.. . . . Good Luck. . . . MIKE.

Hiya!! First of all have a look at their website. There is quite a lot of info on there. I believe they are helpful, but not very fast! Quite a few people on here have Barnardos experience, so you should get a few replies. Maz. XX
