www(.)historicaldirectories(.)co(.)uk Has loads and loads of directories such as Kelly's etc for all regions (although University of Leicester website), found some relations listed under their occupations. Search facility not quite specific enough but def worth the patience of searching each page. Not one of mine this was put on another thread and I tried it so def recommend it. Zoë

www(.)british-history(.)ac(.)uk/ Includes Commercial guide and street directory of London in 1817, London inhabitants in 1695, Post office directories for London relating to textiles in years 1841,1851+1911. Loads more stuff on there mostly London.

http://www.documentsonline.pro.gov.uk/ - lots of downloadable (costs £3 a go) wills from the PRO. Plug an ancestor's name into the search facility and see what comes up. I found several suspected ancestors' wills from the 1700s & early 1800s. . http://www(.)motco(.)com/map/81006/ - a really large-scale searchable map of London in 1862. Even shows things like building or terrace names that weren't part of the full address. You can only search for "streets" or "roads" but if you know roughly the area you're looking for you can just keep zoomimg in. . I've just discovered a great site with links to many countries genealogical resources and web sites of various people listing their surnames of interest, and lots more. In the search bar enter genealogical limericks. The first web site listed is http(://)pub17(.)bravenet(.)com(/)freelink(/)show(.)php?usernum=1412553443&cpv=1 If you just put the web site address in the address bar as I originally stated, you just get bravenet . com, and it takes an age to find pub 17. A new forum has just gone online for help with British ancesters: www(.)rootschat(.)co(.)uk It has a chatroom, hundreds of useful links and it's all arranged in an easy to use format. It has already helped me to trace some elusive ancesters. The chatroom is great fun, I'm usually wary of getting involved with chat rooms, but this one is different.
