Does anyone know this cemetry and how large it is as I have relatives buried there but am wary of making a trip, Is there any way of obtaining a plan or burial site list. Thanks Lynn

Try ringing the Willesden Cemetery office they will probably have a plan showing positions of graves - this was the case when I was looking for a particular grave in Colchester Cemetery. You might need to check out the Burial Register first at the local Register Office to get the grave reference. Good Luck! In my case, couldn't find the actual grave because there was no headstone.

Vanda, Did you try the local council or caretaker at the cemetery. All the ones that I have been in touch with have large ledgers in date order. Should be easy to find if you have date of death and the correct cemetery. Wouldn't our research be so much easier is all cemetery records were on line!! Regards Margaret

I've just phoned Brent Council Cemeteries department to find my Great great grandfather and the woman I spoke to couldn't have been more helpful! She was able to tell me which cemetery (Willesden New Cemetery), the plot number, when it was purchased, who by, who else was buried there etc. She also said there was a map at the entrace gate to help you find the plots. It made me quite emotional to find his final resting place! If anyone is going soon would they have a look for my stone? Unfortunately I am several hundred miles away! You can find the number on the Brent council website or message me direct. Regards Sarah
