Ann The Cleveland Family History Society have indexed most of the 1851 census returns for the area and they are in Darlington local studies. Have you looked to see if there is one for Redcar in there? Beryl

Hi! Do you know if this is the same GUY family as William GUY, the lifeboatman who drowned on Christmas Day 1836? I believe he was a Tees pilot. The 1851 Redcar census has been transcribed on Family History Online, so it would be worth a look. There are some GUYs in North Yorks, but I haven't got any credit to look for you. I know I've seen GUYs in Redcar on the 1841 census when I've been looking for my own ancestors.
