for tenerife in April. Monarch have a flight out of Birmingham, so good we say we'll go for that. We didn't realise that Monarch now charge for hold luggage. and if you want to pre book seats it is £20 each each way!!! And it is not as if they are a cheap airline to start with either. We have always travelled with GB Air (BA) before but they have been bought out by easyjet!

I thought the government were meant to be doing something about this hidden charges business. *snorts* oh I forgot, what the hell am I saying...what they say and what they do are two very different things.

Can't remember who I flew with to Tenerife. Oh... JMC? whatever they were called. I wanted to say JML but I know that's not right lol.

Yes we have flown JMC before but they were I think a lot dearer this time. Mind you by the time we have added it all up we might as well fly BA, at least you get free drinks. I did say I would never fly Monarch again as the last time we had awful service and delays.

Ann, aren't Easyjet carrying on with the flights to Tenerife? As far as I know they are going to do the ones here from Gatwick, but now have Easy jet form Bristol and Stansted.

He is quite an expert at it Daff and has looked yes already. We are later than usual booking our tenerife holiday (and missed the Lanzarote one completely) because of the hospital taking time to let me know when my op is.
We wanted to go from Birmingham for a change as when we land back late as we usually do it is a drag from gatwick. Not so many flights from Birmingham.

Birmingham doesn't seem to get much in the way of cheap flights, convenient for us but busy this end as all flights on Monday, much prefer other days as the airport here is quiet. Bristol was a two hour drive for us, but still ended up cheaper than Birmingham even with an overnight stay.

We have timeshare accommodation booked plus two extra days (our choice) so are flying out on a Wednesday. wanted to fly back on the Thursday but monarch only fly Wednesday and friday.

Two weeks holiday i don't think I can cope with just cabin bag!!

Well he has booked that flight with Monarch. Then it wouldn't accept one of our mastercards - the one we use the most and the only thing OH can think of is that it only has 3 months to run!!! Not that it matters it accepted the other one but I can't believe that it would refuse with only 3 months can you?
He is guessing, they didn't say.

oops, just spotted my deliberate mistake which may have confused everyone. bristol should have read Birmingham. have corrected it now.

and then it was £7 for paying by C card. However, it was still cheaper than other airlines when all added up.

We could have done it cheaper if we had gone from Heathrow by Iberia air via Madrid with one and a half hours to get across Madrid airport. it can be done - just. we did it last October but it was a bit of a rush as we were delayed leaving Heathrow. this flight goes to Tenerife North

didn't want to do it that as I hate Heathrow and it made it a very long day. Was OK in October as we were staying North Tenerife but this time we are in the South so it would mean driving down.
