Hi Dawnie I've just put thread on chat my water rates have gone up £85 since last year. Just how do they expect people on fixed income to manage.

Wonder if I send it to local MP will he pay it out of his claimed expenses he gets for his out of pocket costs. Last time he knocked on door he said if ever I needed assistance he would be willing to help, mind you there was an election forthcoming.

I had a water meter installed last year and it is saving me £20 a month, all those years of paying too much !! No refund of course!

Just had the gas rep round and he asked if all was ok I said apart from bill going up and he says their prices have been frozen since last year so am going to check my bill in minute detail to check.

My sister just rang - said her water meter bill was £378 - she couldnt believe that and went out to the meter to check the units but its full of condensation so she couldnt read it.

She rang the water co and they said they would replace the meter free of charge and read it at the same time. She has just got her new bill - £138.

forgot to mention that when I switch to SWALEC phone I get £30 off my next energy bill plus you get nectar points too!!
Talktalk say Broadband is free - well it ain't - it's free for the first six months only and then £15.99 a month!!

Surprised Ann - I pay talktalk £20 per month for broadband and unlimited phone calls beginning with 01 or 02 codes - have done so for about 18 mths. Prior to that I was paying £17 per month for broadband alone.

Re energy prices - money man this week said NOW is the time to check your prices and Switch. He said anyone who was still with Brit Gas or their local elect supplier could save £200 - £300.

When I got my electrcity bill I was suprised to see that they were decreasing my monthly payments . I haven't used as much since my O/h died and was in credit
The local council tax is being at 0% for the coming year, but I hate to think what the water rate will be it's quite high now
I have received my tax code for the coming year and working out from the figure given for my widows/statepension I will be getting aprox £5-50 per week extra but when I worked the tax out against my other pensions received I will pay a lot more tax and end up with less than I have now
