I just looked at sending something in a tube to Australia , the post office charge around £20 so that sounds good

parcel cost at christmas over £45 to send to OZ and theirs was abt same so it seems about right for p/p......as it will be on weight aswell,,,,,,,,,

thank you everyone just didnt no if it was right but seeing your replys it seems ok and anyway i wanted the book the lady said one to two weeks so i,ll get it next week and if the information is is it will be money well spent

If we were sending to Australia from here - there is a postal rate for printed packages, ie books. Dont know if Australia has the same thing.

But books are heavy and airmail expensive - you could always ask how much it would cost to send via overland/ship - but that would take 6-8 weeks to get here.

I recently paid £20 for a book and another £20 for the postage from Australia. The book was hardbacked and quite heavy. Well worth it I thought as I couldn't get a copy here in the UK.

I don't think that is excessive. I often send small packages to USA, and it can easily cost that for a small box of chocolates, etc. (At Christmas it cost me more for the postage than the chocs!)

well when you consider the cost of a simple letter in the UK, £2 does not sound excessive to me for a book

it was book called angels of albion women of the indian mutiny i wanted it as i think my g.g.g aunt is mention in it i hope if not will read it anyway,it says paperback new
