Just thought I would put your minds at rest lol

After Dad's call last night to go and help him - when I was free I thought I best ring to say I would be along soon.

Mum answered the phone, and she was fine, she was fine when I got down there too - we all chatted generally.

My card I posted hadn't arrived so had a grumble cos I was disappointed - so I nipped to Tesco and fetched her back a lovely albeit well overpriced bunch of flowers which she was very pleased to receive.

So - I dunno if Dad's talked some sense into her OR if she has just realised for herself that she was over-reacting a bit OR if she was just putting on a front ? ! ? ! ?

Yes - hopefully.

I think maybe she has just accepted that I will go ............. she made a point of asking for hers and Dad's birth certs and marriage cert back (nicely) - cos she knows I was putting the FH stuff away for a while.

She said 'you never know when we might need them'

Get them copied then give them back with a sweet smile,saying its ok as you have copies of them.

If there is a motive,then its been slightly foiled,,)))dont let her make a fuss,,or get you in tizz,,,,,,x

I don't think there was any motive Kay - just realisation that I had something she may need and that it was in danger of leaving the country lol - there was no 'undercurrent' of any sort ..............

I,m so glad its sorted Hun...my Dad who,s in his 80,s doesn,t say a lot until me an me Mum have a falling out.Even then he has a way with words that never , ever shows he,s taking sides , but he always gets it resolved in a very subtle way ........

McAnne, I'm so pleased you and your mum are friends again, whether your Dad had a word or not, the important thing is neither of you have let this go on.

She may not get as excited about your move as you will hun, but don't take it personally, its hard for a mum to have her children move away from her.

So glad it's worked itself out, and lucky you went down or she woulda been upset when she didn't get a card and thought you were still mad at her.

We get worried and fret,and then when resolved,wonder what it was all about.Think it was just an initial reaction on her part.
You go ahead now and make your plans with a clear conscience.

It's her birthday next Sat - so sometime during the week I will ring and see if she wants to have a drive round the garden centres on the day................ she likes that and I need some shrubs for the garden too :O))

Sure everything will be fine now, a few grumbles or tears now and then, but your Mum will let you go now.
