Its already been decided that when my daughter and her boyfriend gets married myself and OH will chip in, her dad and his OH will chip in and her boyfriends parents will chip in and they will pay for the rest.

She also wants her dad and stepdad to give her away, thankfully we all get on so there is no worries.

But I have made one stipulation that both me and her stepmum go with her to choose her dress and we pay for it to make sure she has the one she wants not the one she can afford.

Kitty and Ros, hi.....

Years ago I married off two daughters and a son...

Am now contributing to grandaughters weddings..I have six of them.. two married and one due to get married in July..

Have bought christening presents for two great grandaughters and one great grandson, another great grandson due in May....

Over and above that I still pay income tax on my company pension..am 76...

My children will not have to pay any inheritance tax when I pop off...don't have time to save...lol.

Enjoy your daughters wedding Ros, as I'm sure you will.

My daughter paid for her wedding herself. And I mean HERSELF, as her mean and miserable oh didn't put his hand in his pocket.
She is now divorcing him, after admitting she knew on her wedding day she was doing the wrong thing. Wish she had said, as I would have begged her NOT TO go ahead with it.

Look forward to your daughters wedding day, and I hope it all goes well.

And the price they expect to pay these days!

my daughter's wedding left us living on chips for a fortnight , while they were in Paris for a honeymoon!!

BUT Ros..... you are going to love it.

It's far better to see your family enjoying your money than leaving a good proportion of it to the taxman, but I live in dread of the next few years, uni fees are next!

Oh D**n Deb, why didn't I think of that?
