I had a thread a while ago about 'Charlies Dead'. I hadn't heard the pharse in over 30 years - but I had a rush to get to work the other week and couldnt find a black slip so wore a white one and saw it peeking below my darkskirt in a lift. It was as if My nan was there scolding me. I had some great replies about what it meant. Mainly to do with the death of Charles and the covert royalist displays of unity. Very romantic - or barbaric depending on your view but I found it romanatic.

I really must change my name as any reference to underwear in whatever form is, I think, directed at moi.

Then again had these on about three and a half years. They are certainly rusty!

My aunt used to say "keep your hand on your halfpenny". Good advise.

If my petticoat was showing, it was either 'Charlie's dead' or 'it's snowing down south'
My friend used to say All fur coat and no knickers for someone who was all show, and another one, after I crochetted myself a lovely red beret years ago, was from the chaps on Norwich Market. Red hat, no drawers! Cheeky beggars lol
