when my purse was stolen, my flaming telephone is dead !! Phoned BT on friends phone and went through the stupid palaver of talking to an automated voice and pressing innumerable buttons and eventually they tested the phone. It is testing normally they said. Great though I and galloped home. Picked up phone -DEAD !!! In desperation I have now come on-line and e- mailed them to tell them the last two numbers I had dialled this morning and to inform them that it is not, definitely not, working normally. This is about the last straw, I could scream.

Errrr - have you tried plugging a different phone in ?? maybe it's just the phone itself that's dead not the line - maybe ??? *runs*

No Anne I hadn't thought of that - brain not functioning. I will unplug the extension phone and try that one.

This may be a stupid question, but are you online in your own home?

Good luck with trying to get hold of phone people, last year I spent hours on the other peoples phones. Everyone said it was working as when someone rung it, it was giving the ringing sound. Not ringing in my house. Finally after 2 weeks, a girl in India believed me & sent an engineer round. It was switched off at the junction box up the road. Spent ages getting to talk to someone, only to be told I had the wrong person. I was spitting feathers. Hate these automated answering services.

Hi Joanne - no not a stupid question at all. OH has his own phone line and broadband is attached to that. I know I can use his phone but it wouldn't be fair as we have two sep bills on two sep lines because of the internet - that's his baby !!!

ok, it was just a thought. good luck with BT, hope they find the problem.

My phone went on the blink and I was told it was ok when they tested the line and if BT come out and the fault is in my house they would charge me £145!! Turns out it WAS my box inside so they replaced it and said the cause was damp that had got into a sealed unit and that I should have got an electrician to check it..Anyway cut a long story short I argued and said I will take my business else where and fingers crossed no bill as yet!!

Sorry you are having such bad luck....

If it is internal just argue with them and threaten to go else where. We give in to easy most the time, I am making a stand lol

If it anything like getting through on the phone....never! I once had Bt phone me up for something entirely different and whilst he was waffling on I managed to get my son washed and dressed and brush my own teeth! every now and again I just said mmm, really, mmm lol

Good luck and I hope who ever stole your purse didnt get way with to much money and personal things. I keep loads of photo's of the kids in my purse and every debit/credir card going.
