MIKE TODD MANCHESTER CHIEF CONSTABLE

Id just like to say coming from Manchester myself something about Mike Todd, By all accounts he was a fine policeman, and well respected by his force.I remember when they tried laser guns, he was the first one to have it shot at him, He also did a lot to try and combine ethnic communities in Greater Manchester.
He was a man of the people.

A few years ago my 80 year old Mum was mugged getting off the bus, he rang her up personally and assigned an officer to her case.

So he had personal problems maybe a Mistress, BUT we all have personal stuff to cope with,
I think he was a fine Man and a good Policeman.
He also went on patrol with his ordinary Bobbies.

Such a pity the Parsites of the tabloids had to print what they did today. His family have enough to cope with without their hassle.**M**.

Richard Littlejohn in the Mail speaks very highly of him, as a man and policeman, what happens in his private life is just that, private.

totally agree Merlin-I did hear the tabloids were going to expose his affair and that's apparently why he did it-if this is the case the tabloids are disgraceful-Now I know why I don't buy newspapers-
A family and kids left devastated. I know he was wrong but were all human.Mistakes happen.

That's why we don't buy tabloids any more.

It's a cruel thing to do to his family................no doubt it would have been "in the public interest" though.

A poor excuse for being spiteful to a fellow human being, in my opinion.

One of the best thing i ever did was to stop buying news papers, that was over 15 years ago, they wreck so many lives, and dont give a t**s about it.

I echo every thing said so far,its such a great shame.

He was a good policeman, his private life should have been just that ---- private. Such a waste of a life.

oh eye Dave we needed that-
you know it's quite bizzare Dave-a month ago I was given some Home Watch info for my area-(I'm the co-ordinator) well I finally got round to sorting it out and doing a covering letter for my residents-Posted them today-and on the booklet inside is a write up and pic of Mike Todd-such a shame, the residents will think I've gone mad-but it might takes months for another booklet to be re-printed.

glad your getting there mate-hey ya like me new name????
