woke up to dog barking like mad then door bell going crazy ,other half goes down stairs thinking we were being burgled only just being missed being hit by a great big fire exstinquisher{spelling }coming through our double paned leaded light front door and police and firemen screaming at him to get out now!!terraced house next door on fire I picked dog put lead on her got a jacket on and was ushererd into the street lucky one neibough had mobile and i was able to phone our son who came and took us to his house untill just after 7am when police phoned to say they had boareded our door up and it was safe for us to come home our son cleaned up for us what was left as the police had took most of the glass from the front hall, but they also had to go up stairs to see if the fire had traveld into our loft and there was glass and sooty marks all over the walls and loft opening but that soon washed off .had to get quotes for new door which police said they will pay for!! ive been on auto pilot today dont know if im coming or going .dont ever want to go through that again, the house was gutted by the fire it was so tense that there was only one window in the four bed house that didnt shatter flames were coming out from the roof only one good thing was that all got out safe.Jean

Good heavens how dreadful. I hope everyone is ok ?

Please do say you are insured for this damage. How lucky you are to have such a wonderful son to take care of you, bless him.

The people next door have lost EVERYTHING.....Its SO upsetting to see the remains of their possessions spread in the front of their house, WE had a bit of trauma and inconvenience, but noway as bad as they must have had.all they had left was the clothes that they managed to grab in the panic? to get out....... and it was freezing Monday morning!
