Last I heard was a couple of weeks ago when they thought they had found another secret chamber. Nothing since.

Bren from Oldham

Bren from Oldham Report 6 Apr 2008 20:57

3 weeks ago I met a lady who had been in that home in the 1940's during the second world war. She remembers it as being as harsh and austere but no actual cruelty.. I asked her why hadn't she been sent to England like many other children (some of my distant relatives came during that period)She replied that her father was a soldier and her mother had died shortly after giving birth to her sister who also died and there was no one else to look after her
After the war was over she was sent to England to work as a servant
She was pleased to meet me because I had a connection with the Channel islands
