does anyone know the area of leamington spa where i may find gravestones from 1900 to 1920ish i want to search for old relativeswho were catholic by the name of yates it looks as if there has been a lot of development through the years and may be some are bulldozed ?

Not morbid.................dead people are very interesting:))

I would think you would need to know the church they were buried in, then contact the local diocese if the church concerned is no longer there..................they should know where the stones might be.

This is what our hobby is all about! Tell us if you find any of your ancestors' graves, eh. I'd love to find some of mine, though my lot are up in Middlesex and I'm in the South-West.

Maybe try the local council,,they hold records from this time.. .........as most towns has a borough owned run municicple run one,


,,RC if in municaple cemetery some have their own plotted area for burilas,,,,,

The local library could hold them on film....

thanks peeps for the replys i did put a ?beside the morbid its a long way from devon to find the bulldozers have been in i will contact the council for the area for more info and look at" graveyard thread?"

I contacted a local run council one at the town hall.not only did they find the plot and number but sent a mapped out detail of grave location...all for free...........!

got 200mls to leamington when i can find the time ! i havent found the threads bit yet puss ,tums rumbling now
