google Gale group - they seem to have the market cornered on newspapers online. Or the british library.

National news ..... British Library at Collingdale (this is online to find newspapers and dates but you will have to visit and search.

please could someone tell me what the r o is as where i live i have not found one yet except a very nice lady[ sometimes if shes in a good mood] in my local registrars and im trying gale now.

Try asking at your nearest main library.
Sometimes they hold film or fiche of old papers of that area.
Many are not indexed so it will be a case of reading through them for around the date of interest.

i am near library of wales. aberystwyth.. would this maybe the best place to start.i am a member [as you have to even have your photie taken!] sorry for sounding thick on this but ive not really done more than census on family tree thing etc

I just had a look on Google re. the library in Aberystwyth
There is building work going on at some parts just now.
