We are on the market and not holding our breath. In our village there is a forest of 'for sale' signs.

Is it the same in other areas in the UK? It's so depressing.

Sue,

It is no better in the Algarve.

We have been on the market for two years, dropped the price to way below the market value and not holding my breathe either.

Lindy, when we had the first valuation it was £195,000 we are now on at £155,000 for a 3 bed detached!

It's so frustrating cos I need a bungalow and can't see that happening any time soon.

In East North Wales area we had 3 in the same street for sale and after 4 months all had been sold which I don't think was too bad and around the asking price too.

Hi Sue, well fingers crossed that it goes through, but I have sold subject to contract after 3 weeks.....bungalow was worth a lot more but I am taking the money and running, as I do want to go quickly...it is around £30k less than I would have got easily last year!....

Best of luck,

Thanks Rose,

We can't go any lower cos we won't be able to afford anything else, a bit of a vicious circle really.

I hope your move goes well

Sue,

We first had ours for sale for 800,000 euros and have dropped to 600,000 ( don't know the amount in pounds) Four bed, 3 bath, saltwater pool, and a whole lot of extras...

Also looking for a bungalow, which are few and far in between.

OH retires in less then four years time and he won't get a full pension as he does not have sufficient working years in Portugal.

I can relate to your frustration.

I know Sue, I have almost thrown myself off the property ladder, won't be able to buy anything like what I have ....so may rent for a while and 'live' a little lol
