You can indeed replant the thinings of certain seedlings ,but not carrot or parsnip, they,if transplanted corkscrew, and are inedible puss.
Spring onions if left ,grow become a fair size but are incredibly strong [phewwwwar lol]you need a cast iron palate to eat them.
I grow my onion in seed trays ,planting them out when they are big enough to handle.
Try growing a row of carrot between the rows of onion, the smell from each ,so close together can sometimes confuse the onion, carrot fly.
Try growing the carrot in a raised bed ,with the onions ,the two flies fly very close to the ground ,and raising the crops a few inches tends to keep the crop clear of the maggots.
Spring onion are a variety called White Lisbon, and are unsuitable to grow for large size cooking onions.

squirt said cat with water a few times ,and it won't come back.
If the little blighter persists ,shake some black pepper round the area.lol
If all else fails ,get an electronic cat scarer, expensive at £20 but veeeeery effective.or ,get a dog he he.

Folly Clower need lots of horse or cow pooh to grow really well.
If this niffs too much for you,buy the pelleted form[chicken pooh is good too,but not fresh]sprinkle it on the soil first and rake in a couple of weeks before planting
a good liquid feed will work wonders.
The best varieties are oz developed.
Dok elgon,Barrier Reef,Candid Charm, grow very big,are solid and taste lovely. The old brit' variety called All The Year Round are a waste of space.

I dont thin my spring onions - every year I chuck the seeds in a very large garden pot and even with 4 cats they grow - they are not very thick - but boy do they have a kick! As I take them out I put in more seeds and lightly cover and have continous spring onions till early autum most years.

A good tip to keep the birds off seedlings and strawberries etc is to hang some old CDs across the garden these catch the light and birds fly away !

I'm not sure if it isn't later, when they are riper, Puss! You can certainly have them soon.

In fact.. I'll dig around and see if I can find some Val Doonican you can play to them... I'm sure that'll keep the birds away. lol
