when it says thining out seedlings do you toss the ones you pull out away or replant them some where else, and is a spring onion a baby big onion as my growths look like spring onions, hope uncle freds about xxxx |

You can indeed replant the thinings of certain seedlings ,but not carrot or parsnip,they,if transplanted corkscrew,and are inedible puss. |

I dont thin my spring onions - every year I chuck the seeds in a very large garden pot and even with 4 cats they grow - they are not very thick - but boy do they have a kick! As I take them out I put in more seeds and lightly cover and have continous spring onions till early autum most years. |

A good tip to keep the birds off seedlings and strawberries etc is to hang some old CDs across the garden these catch the light and birds fly away ! |
