Yes, I did remember Kay, but today would also have been the Wedding Anniversary of MiL and FiL, and he passed two years ago......

I always remember FiL and his stories of how they felt on D.Day especially as it was a special day to them too........also on VE Day when he was in the streets celebrating and climbed a lamp-post.....lol....

Just saw this... have added to another thread..... I had realised, and so glad you have put this up, Kay!!

God bless them... I shudder to think where we might be today were it not for those young men... although it is forgotten that there were also some young women who went too, to help set up the field hospitals.

I well remember going to a VE Day street party, and then the celebrations of VJ Day

D-Day? Crikey, a very worthy thread here, Kay.

I used to sing a song at gigs called Lovely Way To Spend An Evening (yeuk, hated it lol) and someone told me on one occasion that that was the top of the charts on the occurrence of D-Day.

Just a bit of useless information, and trying to show-off! lol
