My pet theory is that you can eat as much butter, suet and lard as you want as long as you drink plenty of beer, whisky and red wine.

It's done me no harm at all, fit as a flea. Still a 54" waist like I was when I was 40.

Sorry Daff, you had to have Benecol when you came to me!!! I love butter too. always have it when we go to the Canaries and when we go to daughters as she only eats butter.

don't forget to put on your lady of the manor voice!

I agree Eldrick that one molecule away from plastic does sound OTT,but to me nothing tastes like butter, and my mother who was diagnosed with a bad heart in her 20's ate butter,in fact when she was in her 80's I was getting her 1lb a week, and she lived till she was 92....and she wasn't fat.She also cooked chips in lard or dripping. She did eat loads of vegetables though.

Hi Daff
Thanks for thinking of my hubby
He is great thanks
Got over the major surgery now and is back to near normal. Well as normal as he'll ever be lol.
was a bit of a worrying time for us but as long as he knows his limitations all should be OK

We are now looking forward to that long awaited Holiday in September. We are off to Tasmania and Sydney.

Wonder if I can get any nice New Potatoes over in Tasmania lol

Have a nice day
Regards
Jackie

OH has his Flora Pro Activ, so do I on sandwiches, but when it comes to toast and toasted tea cakes I like my butter. OH has just jam or marmalade.

3.30pm every day a nice toasted tea cake with butter and a pot of tea. Smashing.

Also Jersey Royals with butter on. - Scrumptious.

Hi Mick
I will have to put Gippsland on the list for the next holiday maybe.
Have done the Great Ocean Road, been to some of the Snow Mountains and have friends that we have stayed with in Wodonga a few times. But never got to Gippsland.
We are trying Tasmania this time as we have never been there before and I always enjoy Sydney so going there for a week also.

Must try Gippsland though especially if they have some nice spuds and Butter lol. (OH and Mick lives there too lol)

Our potatoes here in the West just don't taste the best. I have to buy tins of English New Potatoes but even then they don't taste as good as the fresh Jersey Potatoes we used to get in England.

Oh well you can't have everything can you.
Regards
Jackie

I'm with Mo on the Jersey Royals with butter on.....No taste quite like those potatoes. It's a pity they are only with us for a short season. They do nothing for my OH so I think there must be something wrong with his taste buds!
Jackie,my neighbour tells me that if you drain all the brine off tins of new potatoes, and just boil for a couple of minutes in ordinary water, they taste delicious.Never tried it but it might be worth a go,unless, that is, you do that already.
