Sally - only place I ever heard the expression 'boggin' used was N. Ireland. It is a wonderful expression as is the word 'throughother' for someone that is very slapdash and dirty. Jenny - glad the bleach worked.

.....OH did it 3 years ago with the power hose and it did come up OK, but its back to being boggin again....

....and boggin?......well that was my Dad's expression for something that is really dirty....

With you on the pressure washer. We looked as if we'd had a monsoon after our attempt with it. He looked like a drowned rat as well

Jenny is he REALLY doing a good job? Do you want to show me how good he is at it? Can fit him in any day this week or next.

(Could ask my OH but after his last attempt with the pressure washer it looked like we'd had a touch of a hurricane, worse than ever before, and I swore it was ok Iwouldn't ever ask him to do it again lol)

Thanks, my parent's house (that they're trying to sell) has an unsightly slab of a concrete path that I think I'll suggest trying it on.

He used the bleach Summer, and left for a while before rinsing off with the hosepipe. Hard work but very impressive results

I only used a high-powered spray on my back garden, the tiles came up as new.Used a lot of water though.Didn't want to use any chemicals because of the danger to insects and animals.I also use strong vinegar to get rid of weeds between the garden tiles.Only spray on when it is very hot & dry.Don't know if you can buy this special kitchen vinegar in the UK though.It is also used for cleaning windows etc. over here-Holland.

who told me the best way to clean paving slabs. Husbands done half of them so far with the bleach and they look like before and after photos. In fact the before ones are a total embarrassment in comparison.
