MY OH thinks it is hilarious and tells me to shut my eyes but it always seems to happen so quickly and it is right in front of me. (OH has a plate in leg for about 45 years!)

Julie I can cope with seeing the plates when surgeon flashes up x-rays on his monitor - however I only have to see the screws and all I can think of is Black and Decker!

Kaz - poor you - least my injury was caused by my tripping over my own feet! I am plated, screwed and wired on both wrists! Wish you well - at least I do not have a young family to look after. Take care. Thank you all - am grateful for all good wishes, thoughts and anything else!

Kaz - in their words I did not break both wrists I smashed them - the RH worse than LH. Swelling came up after casts were removed.

Last saw him 8 weeks ago and been having physio for past 7 weeks. Surgeon informed me that unless my RH began to improve they may have to operate again!!!!!!! He will see me in 8 weeks - will be seeing physio on Friday and he has also arranged for the Senior physio to be there to see if he can suggest anything further to try and bring down swelling. Am beginning to use it a little - but it is a little as swelling prevents movement.

Ah well on the bright side if I do have further surgery it will only be on one hand this time!
