Watch out if you take anything containing ephedrine - you may not sleep.

Thanks for your replies. Sorry I fell asleep lol.

Looks like a shall have to suffer in silence for a whille. Hubby has been called out to work on the last day of his fortnight's holiday. Re the floods in Morpeth and surrounding areas. Goodness knows when he will get home.

I am currently taking Naproxen and Codiene Phosphate, so he will have to ask the Pharmacist.

Thanks.

My doctor has never given me antibiotics for sinusitis and I can't take decongestants because of the ephedrine.

Doc Ian says they nothing is any more effective than boiling the head three times a day! Plain water will do, rosemary or sage from the garden will help to dry things up - a couople of sprigs is all you need - or Olbas or Vick or essential oil, lavender, eucalyptus, tea tree or a drop of each.

Hope OH feels better soon - there is nothing more miserable than a sinus problem.

Sounds very much like sinusitus to me ,you need antibiotics to clear it,,a vick inhaler will help clear the head, and paracetamol to lower the temperature.

Are you on any other meds?

If not Sudafed is very good ~its done in liquid or tablets.

Wish you well.

Jenny
If it's getting worse you could have an infection. Do you have a walk-in clinic near you?

Have you any Olbas Oil or Vick or menthol crystals which you could put in a bowl of boiling water and keep in the room near you for temporary relief?

I hope you feel better soon.

Can anyone recommend a good over 'the counter' medicine please?

I shall have to send Hubby to the chemist as soon as they open. I have developed a really bad head cold and sinus trouble over the last two days, which is worse this morning. Head, face and eye pain is terrible.

I used to swear by Mucron tablets, but imagine there are much better remedies nowadays.

Thanks.
Jenny.
